Join an exciting leadership position where you will drive the strategic direction and operational management of the Process Engineering Department. This pivotal role calls for a visionary leader capable of fostering innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning both immediate and long-term refinery objectives with engineering goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Process Engineering Department to meet the refinery’s operational needs effectively.
  • Oversee budget preparation and manage financial resources for refinery utilities and departmental operations.
  • Select and develop key manufacturing information systems to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of Technical Services reports and files, both electronically and in paper form.
  • Address administrative, labor relations, and personnel matters efficiently.
  • Design and implement comprehensive training plans to enhance the technical expertise and leadership skills of engineers.
  • Set clear expectations for team members and maintain effective communication with the Technical Department Manager on any concerns or issues.
  • Assist in selecting and applying technology that aligns with the business unit’s strategic goals.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving refinery performance and implementing long-term enhancement programs.
  • Develop and implement staffing strategies to meet engineering and technical resource needs.
  • Foster effective communication across various refinery departments, including safety, maintenance, operations, and reliability.
  • Deliver process design packages for refinery projects and provide ongoing technical support to operations.
  • Monitor and optimize energy usage across the refinery, providing engineering support to Area Business Teams and turnaround groups.
  • Support the success of capital projects throughout the proposal, design, and construction phases.
  • Provide technical assistance to departments such as Turnaround, Environmental, and Process Safety.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and successes to upper management.
  • Actively participate in corporate Best Practice Teams and other initiative groups.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in the refining, with significant supervisory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry process safety, environmental regulations, and refinery processes.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa support.
