Laundry Associate
Full-Time (6:00am-2:00pm)

Responsibilities for Laundry Associate:
- Consistently mode and demonstrate excellence in customer service, with a constant focus on person-centered care/service delivery.
- Ensures adherence to the mission and philosophy of the organization.
- Carries out the task of doing the laundering of linens and clothing in a safe and sanitary manner, washing contaminated lines separately if necessary, avoiding overloading machines and utilizing chemicals in an effective and efficient manner handling, storing, processing laundry, and transporting clean articles in a controlled manner in order to prevent contamination.
- Uses appropriate protective gloves when necessary; Washing garments and linens in an electrically powered washing machine by placing garments in the drums, selecting correct cycle lengths and chemical balance; Transfers washed and rinsed articles from the washer to the dryer for completion of the processing; Hangs or folds articles for storage or distribution to resident rooms or storage in an efficient neat manner to respect the properties of the articles whether they be linens or resident clothing items; distributes clothing to the correct resident room.
- Makes certain adequate supplies of laundry chemicals are on hand.
- Makes certain dryer filters are cleaned regularly of lint build-up.
- When performing resident clothing laundry, checks labels of new garments or a new resident's garments to ascertain that articles are washable.
- Complies with infection control principles of separation of clean and dirty laundry and prevents soiled laundry from setting on the floor.
- Maintains the appearance of the laundry in a neat manner, free of trash buildup and lint settling. Ensures the inside and outside of washers are cleaned at least once per shift.
- Assists facility in maintaining the integrity of the machines by reporting to supervisor any problems with any of the machines.
- attend in-services as required or assigned.
