General Ledger Accountant

Organisation

Every year, over half a million people in Europe suffer from cardiac arrest and tragically, only 10%  survive. With sufficient access to properly functioning AEDs, up to 350,000 lives could be saved  annually. However, many AEDs currently in use fail due to poor maintenance and high ownership  costs.

That’s why Pulse4all was founded in mid-2023. The company introduces a smarter, fully serviced  AED subscription model that includes maintenance, device replacement, and customer support, all  for a fixed monthly fee. This eliminates the upfront investment and operational hassle for AED  owners.

Pulse4all is a leading Product-as-a-Service AED provider in Europe, with thousands of customers in  the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, and beyond. As a fully circular AED supplier, Pulse4all also leads  in sustainability by maximizing product lifespan and reusing equipment efficiently.

To support this mission, we are growing our finance team and are looking for a General Ledger  Accountant to strengthen our financial operations.

The Role

As GL Accountant, you will be part of a small but growing finance team and play a vital role in  ensuring accurate and timely financial records. You will take ownership of key accounting processes  and play an active role in building a scalable finance foundation as the company continues to expand  across Europe.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on position, has a solid grasp of accounting  principles, and is excited to work in a dynamic start-up environment where your contribution truly  matters.

As the company scales, the scope of this role will expand. Depending on individual strengths,  performance and business needs, high performers may grow into broader financial control,  reporting, business partnering or other finance leadership responsibilities over time.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain reconciliations for accrued expenses, prepayments, deferred revenue, intercompany accounts and other balance sheet items.

• Record monthly journal entries, including expense and revenue accruals, payroll journals, and  other adjusting entries.

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including depreciation postings and disposals. • Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and related tax documentation. • Support audits by preparing schedules and providing required documentation.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial  reporting.

• Work closely with the Financial Controller on reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement  of finance processes and internal controls.

• Contribute to the professionalisation and scaling of the finance function as the organisation  grows, with exposure to subscription accounting, asset-based financing structures, and multi entity reporting.

• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the broader organisation as required.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who is accurate, reliable, and enjoys diving into numbers. You love  solving puzzles, improving processes, and helping build a solid financial foundation for a company  that’s making a real impact. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where  priorities evolve as the business scales.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.

• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a GL accounting or financial administration role. • Solid understanding of Dutch GAAP and IFRS.

• Experience in a start-up, scale-up, or international environment is a plus.

• Proficient in Excel and comfortable working in accounting / ERP systems (experience with  NetSuite is a plus).

• Strong attention to detail, with a structured and proactive mindset.

• Good communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage).

• Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and grow with the business.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Financial Controller and  broader team.

• Passion for impactful work and interest in innovation, health, and/or sustainability.

Why Join Pulse4all?

• Join a mission-driven start-up with a real impact on health and sustainability. • Be part of a young, ambitious and driven team where your work makes a real difference and  where collaboration, openness, and enjoying the journey together are part of how we operate. • Work in a fast-paced environment with real ownership and responsibility.

• Play a key role in professionalising and scaling the finance function of a fast-growing scale-up. • Opportunities for professional development and increasing responsibility over time. • Flexible hybrid working (office in Amsterdam).

If you're ready to take the next step in your finance career and help build something meaningful  from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.
