Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to join a growing, employee-owned building services consultancy where you'll work on a diverse range of projects and benefit from genuine career progression?

Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Birmingham office. Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical building services designs across a wide variety of sectors.

The Role

You'll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions for projects including:

• Commercial
• Industrial
• Healthcare & Medical
• Leisure
• Retail
• Residential
• Extra Care
• Mixed-Use Developments

Working closely with clients, architects and fellow engineers, you'll contribute throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to project completion.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems across a range of projects
• Produce calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings
• Liaise directly with clients and external design teams
• Coordinate and manage project delivery
• Support contractor and supplier management
• Promote sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
• Ensure designs comply with current British Standards and industry regulations

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Experience within electrical building services design
• A relevant qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Experience using recognised electrical design/calculation software
• Strong knowledge of British Standards and current industry regulations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage your own workload while working effectively within a team

Desirable:

• Membership of CIBSE, IET or another relevant professional institution
• Engineering Council registration
• Knowledge of sustainable building design
• Full UK Driving Licence
