Vertical Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected UK-based construction consultancy to identify an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The business is continuing to grow its public sector portfolio and is now looking to appoint a to support the successful delivery of Ministry of Defence, government and Blue Light sector projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to join a forward-thinking consultancy delivering nationally significant schemes across defence estates, police and fire service facilities, and broader public sector infrastructure.

The Role:

• Provide full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services on high-security and public sector projects
• Manage cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Administer contracts including NEC3/NEC4 and JCT, ensuring compliance and commercial effectiveness
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including clients, contractors, and consultants
• Lead or support commercial aspects of Ministry of Defence, emergency services, and public infrastructure projects
• Contribute to client relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business

About You:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor operating at a senior level
• Background in a consultancy or client-side environment
• Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract forms
• Experience working on government-funded projects, ideally within the Defence, Blue Light, or wider public sector
• Excellent commercial awareness, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Chartered or working towards MRICS, MCIOB, or MAPM
• SC Clearance (or eligibility for clearance) may be required depending on project scope
