Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Location: North East (Newcastle and surrounding areas)

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract

Day Rate: £400 per day

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical building services projects across the North East. Current and upcoming works include school developments and office buildings, with responsibility for overseeing all mechanical installations, ensuring successful project completion to programme, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle of mechanical building services works (HVAC, heating, chilled water, plant rooms, etc.)
• Lead project planning, programming, and cost control for mechanical packages
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to achieve project milestones
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents, resolving design and installation issues as they arise
• Ensure all works are compliant with health & safety legislation, QA standards, and building regulations
• Chair progress meetings, provide regular updates to senior management and clients
• Oversee commissioning, handover, and snagging processes for mechanical systems

Requirements

• Proven track record as a Mechanical Project Manager (or similar role: Mechanical Package Manager / M&E Project Manager with mechanical bias)
• Strong background in mechanical building services installations on commercial projects
• Previous experience working on schools, offices, or large commercial buildings
• Excellent leadership, commercial, and communication skills
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practice
• CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications desirable
