Senior Civil Engineer

£45,000 - £60,000 + Hybrid & Flexible Working (Can Work from Anywhere) + Unlimited Leave + Bonus + Training & Development + Varied Project Work


We’re working with a forward-thinking, people-first consultancy that’s looking to strengthen its Nottingham team with an experienced Senior Civil Engineer. The Role


As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects from early concept and planning stages through to detailed design and construction. You’ll play a key role in the design and coordination of infrastructure schemes, ensuring that work is delivered to a high standard, on time, and in line with client expectations.


You’ll work closely with clients, local authorities, and other design disciplines, providing civil engineering input across a wide range of development and infrastructure projects. The role also offers scope to mentor junior engineers, contribute to project delivery strategy, and support the continued growth of the civil team.


Key Responsibilities


• Deliver civil engineering designs across drainage, highways, and infrastructure projects

• Prepare and review technical documents, including drainage strategies and flood risk assessments

• Coordinate with stakeholders on S104, S38, S278, and S185 agreements

• Use Civil 3D, Causeway Flow, and/or MicroDrainage software to develop accurate, coordinated designs

• Manage your own workload, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to agreed deadlines

• Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams

• Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting continuous learning and technical development

• Contribute to fee proposals, quality assurance, and project management processes

• Participate in business development, CSR activities, and company-wide initiatives


About You


• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

• Chartered or actively working towards chartership (ICE or equivalent)

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a design consultancy or similar environment

• Solid technical understanding of highways and drainage design principles

• Experience working on development infrastructure and liaising with local authorities

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

• Proactive and motivated, with the ability to take ownership of your work

• Full UK driving licence and ability to attend site visits when required
