Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading global, multi-disciplinary consultancy and engineering services organisation to recruit a Project Manager for the major AMP8 water framework with United Utilities.

Following continued success in securing long-term AMP8 frameworks and capital delivery programmes within the water sector, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the team. This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of projects across the United Utilities portfolio, working under NEC forms of contract.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are met. You will act as the key interface between internal teams, clients and external stakeholders, driving performance and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all internal governance, quality and assurance processes are adhered to
- Manage project delivery in line with NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and best practice
- Control and report on external project finances, including forecasting, cost control and change management
- Maintain strong internal financial discipline, including invoicing and financial reporting
- Develop and manage project programmes, coordinating resources effectively
- Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities
- Lead client liaison and stakeholder engagement activities
- Manage, motivate and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams
- Chair project progress meetings and ensure clear actions and outcomes are delivered
- Undertake regular project reviews and performance reporting
- Manage project change control and commercial variations
- Develop and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat work
- Support senior leadership in achieving wider business objectives
- Contribute to business development activities, including bid preparation and tender submissions
About You
- Proven experience delivering projects within the UK water sector
- Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Demonstrable experience managing project finances, programmes and risk
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills
- Confident leader with experience managing project teams
- Highly organised, commercially aware and solutions-focused
