Project Manager - Healthcare

As Project Manager, you’ll lead and coordinate the successful delivery of healthcare capital projects from initial brief through to completion. You’ll manage multiple stakeholders - including clinical users, estates teams, design consultants, and contractors - to ensure projects meet time, cost, quality, and safety objectives.


Projects typically range between £1m–£20m+ and include new hospital builds, refurbishments, specialist treatment centres, and healthcare facility upgrades.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage healthcare construction projects through all delivery stages.
  • Act as the key client contact, ensuring clear communication and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Oversee project planning, procurement, and contract administration (NEC / JCT).
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across clinical, estates, and technical teams.
  • Monitor performance against time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, design standards (HTMs/HBNs), and governance frameworks.
  • Promote sustainability, digital solutions, and innovation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to business growth through client relationship management and best practice delivery.


About You

  • Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered (or working towards) status with APM, RICS, ICE, CIOB, or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience managing healthcare or hospital construction projects (essential).
  • Strong understanding of NHS capital programmes, frameworks, and governance processes.
  • Knowledge of NEC3/4 or JCT contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - comfortable liaising with clinicians, estates teams, and contractors.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong communication and organisational skills.
