As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic and expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide variety of projects, focusing on both hands-on design and structural reporting. The successful candidate will work primarily within the residential and commercial sectors, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, client-focused solutions.
This position is ideal for engineers who have a well-rounded background in structural engineering, encompassing structural reporting, surveys, investigations, and detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural design across various residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Conduct structural surveys, inspections, and investigations to assess the integrity and condition of buildings and structures.
- Prepare detailed structural reports, including recommendations for repairs, improvements, or remedial work.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and disciplines to deliver coordinated and efficient engineering solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout all project stages, from concept through to completion.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
The Ideal Candidate
- A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in a similar role.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE or IStructE).
- Strong experience in structural reporting, including surveys, condition assessments, and investigative work.
- Proficiency in structural design software and tools, with a good understanding of AutoCAD, Tekla, and similar programs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently liaise with clients and project teams.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
