Position: Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Newcastle, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Structural Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of complex structural projects across various sectors. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Leading the structural design process from concept to completion, ensuring technical excellence, efficiency, and adherence to project requirements.
2. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them in the development of their skills and expertise.
3. Conducting structural analysis, simulations, and calculations using advanced software tools to optimize designs and ensure structural integrity.
4. Collaborating closely with architects, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective structural solutions.
5. Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy, compliance with relevant codes and standards, and alignment with project goals.
6. Managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks and challenges.
7. Participating in site visits and inspections as needed to monitor construction progress, address technical issues, and ensure quality assurance and compliance with design specifications.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects.
3. Expertise in structural analysis and design software
4. In-depth knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
5. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
