With offices based in Warrington, your work on the successful PPP projects at the Sellafield Site will play a vital role in their 100-year clean-up programme. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to cultivate change and creativity in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK, if not the world.
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, Civil/Structural Designer is required to deliver engineering design work packages through concept, preliminary and detailed design for a variety of civil & structural solutions (Reinforced Concrete Vault Structure/Substructure, Steelwork Overbuilding/ Link bridges, Reinforced Concrete ducts/trenches, etc.)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of complete design concepts from basic scheme definition
- Production of plans, sections, details & design documents using the appropriate software
- Checking of drawings, technical specifications, schedules, reports & method statements
- Co-ordinate & supervise structural assessments & surveys (condition/measurement etc)
- Collaborative multi-discipline design & client / stakeholder liaison
- Responsible for ensuring drawings conform to the appropriate standards and procedures
- Attend technical meetings to present and defend technical issues
- Basic understanding of design calculations to develop GA’s, sections, details and specifications to ‘For Construction’ level output
- Oversee Junior members of the team and mentor/develop their core skills
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Experience of working on projects delivering civil/structural design solutions, both greenfield and brownfield.
- Appropriate qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering e.g. BSC, HND, HNC.
- Understanding of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM)
- Experience with CAD packages, REVIT, Navisworks
