Principal Electrical Engineer

Birmingham | £55,000 - £65,000 + Hybrid + Flexible Working


A leading UK building services consultancy is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their growing Birmingham team. The consultancy delivers high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and leisure. This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects and lead a talented team of engineers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design on complex building services projects from concept to completion.
  • Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring delivery to budget, programme, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise across diverse project types, from schools and hospitals to commercial offices and residential developments.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions.


Requirements:

  • Chartered or near-chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng or IEng preferred).
  • Extensive experience in building services design and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex projects across multiple sectors.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and client-facing skills.
