Vertical Recruitment are proud to be working alongside a reputable global multidisciplinary consultancy in their Manchester City Centre office! They have an opening for an experienced senior mechanical engineer to join their Building services team and work for a sought-after employer!

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a leadership role in delivering technically excellent solutions for complex building projects.


In this role, you will be responsible for providing mechanical design expertise, leading project teams, and ensuring high-quality design delivery. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop innovative and efficient building services solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage mechanical building services design for a variety of projects, ensuring high standards and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee the development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, public health, and ventilation, to meet project requirements.
  • Guide project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering
  • Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and sustainability best practices.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, maintaining strong relationships and providing expert advice.
  • Support bids and proposals, contributing technical input and project planning expertise.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience within a consultancy environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, public health systems, and sustainable design principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in design software such as IES, Hevacomp, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE).
