Quantity Surveyor – Client-Side (Residential Developer)
About the Company: Vertical Recruitment are working with bespoke residential developer who are looking for Quantity Surveyor to join their team London team.
About the Role: Working directly with the Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial control, and supporting the successful delivery of high-specification residential developments. These projects range from well-located town and city apartments to luxury countryside homes, all designed and built to the highest standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of cost management, from initial budgeting to final account settlements, ensuring projects remain on budget while maintaining quality.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review JCT contracts, ensuring compliance and effective administration
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost control measures
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints
- Procure materials and subcontractor services, negotiating best value and quality
- Manage valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost assessments and timely project delivery
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify any cost-related risks
- Prepare tender documents and assist in bid evaluations
- Maintain financial records and provide regular reports on project financial performance
Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years industry experience
- JCT contracts experience (essential)
- Experience within the residential sector (essential)
- New build experience (advantageous)
