Project Surveyor – Special Projects (Cladding & Fire Safety)

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 - 55,000 + up to 5% performance-related bonus

Sector: Housing Association

Working pattern: Hybrid (up to 3 days per week from home)


We are working with a well-regarded housing association to recruit a Project Surveyor within their Special Projects team. This role focuses on delivering major remedial works related to cladding, fire safety, and latent defects across residential buildings.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and experience in managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage remedial works packages, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline objectives are met
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary consultant and contractor teams
  • Ensure all works meet current building regulations and fire safety standards
  • Administer construction contracts (including JCT and TPC forms)
  • Liaise with residents, commercial tenants, and other stakeholders
  • Support legal processes relating to latent defect claims
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance


Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional body
  • Proven experience delivering remedial or refurbishment works
  • Strong understanding of cladding systems, fire safety, and statutory compliance
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills
  • Experience working with CDM regulations in a client role


Desirable:

  • Fire safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Fire, Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety, IFE membership)
  • Building Control qualification
  • Background in disrepair, latent defects, and complex stakeholder environments
