Principal Structural Engineer – Birmingham

£50,000 - £60,000 (Based on Experience) + Bonus + Private Medical Insurance + Income Protection + Regular Salary Reviews + 26 Days Holiday

Vertical Recruitment are currently working with a growing and ambitious structural engineering consultancy who are working on multi-million exciting projects across a variety of sectors.

An opportunity has opened for a Principal Structural Engineer within their Birmingham office where you will play a key role in leading projects, managing and mentoring the structural engineering team to complete projects successfully within deadlines.

They are looking for a well-rounded engineer with enthusiasm and motivation to grow into an expanding role, supporting technical delivery. Their client base covers a range of sectors including logistics, high rise residential, industrial, health, education, infrastructure, offices, retail and leisure. 

Key Responsibilities

·      Technical ownership of production of drawings, calculations, reports, and design documents by self and team.

·      Analysing technical problems, assessing feasibility of techniques and procedures, devising new approaches and providing solutions.

·      Lead and support other team members in their technical development.

·      Attending site visits to review projects and construction process.

The Person

·      8+ years post-graduate experience in Structural Engineering.

·      Experience leading and managing technical staff.

·      Experience across multiple sectors including high-rise residential, education, industrial and more.

·      Ideally chartered or working towards chartership but not essential.
