Job Title: M&E Quantity Surveyor

Project Type: High-Rise Residential

Length: 12 month (Renewable)

Contract Day Rate: £425 – £525 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a high-rise residential project in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the project, with a focus on mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation works.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial management of M&E packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and valuations for M&E installation works.
• Assess subcontractor applications and prepare payment notices.
• Lead on procurement of M&E subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Manage variations, claims, and change control processes.
• Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial control of project costs.
• Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure commercial and contractual risks are managed.
• Maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships to support successful project outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Background in mechanical and electrical services, specifically on installation projects.
• Track record of working on large-scale residential or high-rise projects.
• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT, etc.).
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred).
