Structural Engineer
Vertical Recruitment is working with an award-winning, employee-owned Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy. They’re involved in the design of buildings across a wide range of commercial, residential, leisure and industrial projects throughout the UK.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering on an ICE or IStructE accredited course
- 3–5 years’ experience working within a Structural Engineering consultancy environment
- A strong interest in the design of the built environment
- Experience working on building structures projects from concept through to detailed design
- A desire to progress towards Chartered Engineer status (IStructE)
You’ll be involved in:
- Preparing and reviewing design calculations, reports and drawings using software such as Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer
- Leading elements of projects and supporting Graduate Engineers and Technicians
- Attending design team meetings and coordinating with other professionals, including Architects, M&E Engineers and the in-house Civils team
- Carrying out site inspections and surveys and liaising with contractors during construction
- Ensuring all design work complies with current design standards and best practice
This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Manchester office, located in the Northern Quarter.

- Competence in relevant IT systems (MS Office and structural analysis/design software)
