We are working with a highly reputable construction consultancy in Stockport who are seeking a dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor with a significant track record in the Building/Property Sectors. 


You will be working in a high performing team on a wide portfolio of work covering a restaurant chain, multiple retail projects, hotels, industrial warehouses, private residential and commercial offices.


What you will do:

·        Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.

·        Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.

·        Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.

·        Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.

·        Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.

·        Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.

·        Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.


What you will need:

·        Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.

·        5 + year's post-grad experience.

·        Previous experience working in retail / commercial / residential / industrial

·        Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.

·        Previous experience of managing people and risk management.

·        Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration

·        Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.

·        Strong understanding of industry best practice.


Qualifications: 

·        You have a degree qualification in a relevant discipline in construction.

·        A member of a professional body institute such as RICS.

·        You have experience in contract administration and using various forms of contract, in particular, JCT will be preferable.

·        You have experience in managing complex projects with clients and thrive on delivering positive outcomes. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and work well as part of a team. You will have experience in delivering projects in a consultancy environment.
