Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Internal Communications Specialist to support communication around strategic priorities, business transformation and organisational change within a large and complex environment.

In this role, you will take ownership of communication projects from planning through execution, helping employees and stakeholders understand key developments through clear, relevant and engaging communication. You will work closely with business and transformation stakeholders, challenge communication needs where appropriate, and turn complex topics into concise messages tailored to different audiences.

This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong communication expertise with a structured, pragmatic and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic priorities and transformation programmes into clear internal communication plans and campaigns
  • Own communication projects independently, including defining objectives, deliverables, timelines and communication activities
  • Coordinate communication planning across multiple initiatives and ensure alignment with the broader internal communication calendar
  • Work closely with stakeholders across different teams and functions, facilitate alignment and proactively identify potential communication risks or gaps
  • Act as a communication advisor by challenging requests, clarifying objectives and recommending the most appropriate messaging, formats and channels
  • Adapt communication to different employee groups, including frontline employees, managers and senior leadership
  • Develop compelling content based on relevant business developments and employee needs, using formats such as articles, videos, presentations, toolkits and other communication assets
  • Ensure consistency of messaging and quality across internal communication channels and digital touchpoints
  • Take ownership of communication content and coordinate its implementation, while remaining focused on relevance and audience impact rather than logistical execution
  • Establish meaningful KPIs for communication activities and monitor performance through metrics such as reach, engagement and employee feedback
  • Use communication insights and performance data to continuously improve content, messaging and communication plans
  • Support the preparation and delivery of digital communication sessions, including webinars and virtual town halls

Experience & Competencies

  • Several years of experience developing and executing internal communication strategies within a large, complex organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business, strategic or transformation-related topics into simple and engaging messages
  • Strong editorial and analytical capabilities, with excellent writing, editing and content-structuring skills
  • Practical experience delivering communication through multiple channels, including intranet content, internal video, presentations, posters and manager communication materials
  • Previous exposure to organisational transformation, change management or major business initiatives is highly valuable
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to turn information into clear, visually compelling presentations
  • Experience supporting or coordinating digital communication events such as webinars, virtual town halls or online information sessions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge requests constructively and provide pragmatic communication advice
  • Able to work independently while maintaining close alignment with stakeholders across different departments and levels of the organisation
  • Highly organised, curious and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable managing several communication projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
  • Hands-on mentality with a strong focus on execution and delivering tangible results
  • Fluent in French, with a good working knowledge of Dutch and English
