This role is integral to driving partnerships with TPAs (Third-Party Administrators) and brokers, supporting self-funded health plans to optimize their healthcare expenditures. Role Summary

The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for building and expanding broker and TPA partnerships, with a strong focus on referenced-based pricing solutions. This high-impact role offers the unique chance to lead growth initiatives within key territories (Midwest, South, and Northeast US) in a fast-paced, competitive landscape. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this individual will be pivotal in shaping product direction, responding to market demands, and driving revenue growth as a key individual contributor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer and executive team to identify growth strategies, enhance industry positioning, and cultivate relationships with top brokers and TPAs.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses of market trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes to keep the organization competitive and informed.
  • High-Stakes Negotiation and Presentation: Lead negotiations with large accounts, presenting solutions to C-Suite stakeholders both in-person and virtually.
  • Sales Process Management: Oversee the entire RFP process, from strategic alignment to final sign-off, ensuring collaboration across operations, finance, and account management.
  • Client Success Collaboration: Partner with Client Account Managers to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, optimizing client satisfaction and retention.
  • Pricing Strategy and Analysis: Work with finance and operations teams to refine pricing models, keeping offerings competitive and relevant in the market.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of successful sales experience, with a proven track record in cost containment, self-funded health, and/or TPA/broker engagement.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the self-funded health sector, with specific expertise in cost containment, stop-loss, and broker/TPA partnerships.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements and collaborate effectively across departments.
