Higher Education Sales Representative - South Region

Higher Ed Field Sales, South Region (TN, AR, AL, MS, LA)

 

Our client, a leading publisher of world language learning products, is seeking a dedicated and driven field sales representative to join their team. This person will cover an assigned territory and be responsible for building relationships with new and current clients. The successful person in this role is someone who loves networking, building relationships, winning new business, and delivering on client expectations. This person will also have excellent territory management, consultative-selling, presentation and active listening skills. This role will report into the Central Regional Sales Manager.

 

Remote: This role requires residence and a willingness to travel throughout the states of TN, AR, AL, MS and LA. The ideal candidate will reside close to a major airport, within the Nashville or Memphis areas or Birmingham, AL. Candidates must meet this requirement in order to be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow an assigned territory by closing business consistently in order to achieve sales quotas 
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key education professionals
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs
  • Deliver impactful and engaging digital and live presentations that show how our client's solutions can help solve their challenges and achieve learning outcomes
  • Partner with sales support team members in order to meet our customers’ needs
  • Ensure utilization of and data accuracy in our CRM and other tools for effective territory analysis, planning and account management

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • 2-3+ years' experience in a consultative sales, business development or account management role within the education technology (ed-tech), language learning or publishing industry
  • Strong technology orientation and experience presenting and/or doing demonstrations to a variety of audiences in-person and virtually
  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent relationship building, prospecting, territory building, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Experience using a CRM to manage sales activities and accounts 
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% depending on the need and time of year

 

Ideal Experience: 

  • Experience in Higher Education 
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Proficiency in Spanish, German, French or Italian
  • Advanced degree

Salary:

This role has a slated annual base range of $80k-$85k. This position is salaried and is eligible for sales incentives based on employee and organizational performance.
