TX K12 Sales Executive
Our client, an educational publisher who has been a trusted partner in empowering educators to inspire and guide the next generation is looking for a K12 Texas Sales Executive. This position will play an intricate part in the company's strategic plan to grow within the Texas Public school market. The ideal candidate should have a robust network of contacts both at the district and site level, proven experience in expanding a sales territory and comprehensive knowledge of the adoption process. Responsibilities include managing the entire sales cycle by identifying, directing and coordinating sales opportunities for the full range of our client's products. This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager, Southern Division.
Location Requirement: The preferred candidate should reside in one of Texas's major cities, with a preference for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Core Responsibilities:
- Creates strategic plans for the territory that identify and develop sales opportunities.
- Identifies the large public-school districts and uses a consultative approach to understand their needs and offers a solution to customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
- Responsible for the full cycle of the sales process, balancing time effectively with the right mix of prospecting, planning, presenting, negotiating and closing.
- Present print and digital products and services to existing/potential customers.
- Works in tandem with the inside sales rep to support the company and territory’s growth goals.
- Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Meets territory sales quota each year.
- Services existing accounts and establishes new accounts by developing positive, influential relationships with key stakeholders (Curriculum Directors, Coaches, Principals and Superintendents) across territory.
- Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers and potential customers in the Company’s CRM.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies, as appropriate.
- Participates in conventions, exhibits and sales meetings as requested by the Company.
- Has current knowledge of and complies with all Company Policies, Including T& E policy.
Required Skills and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.)
- 2+ years K12 educational sales experience covering TX (Ideally within the ELA space).
- Strong familiarity with the Texas Adoption Process.
- Experience working Texas State Curriculum Listings through TEA and Regional Education Service Centers.
- Knowledge of the Science of Reading.
- Classroom teaching or District Level Leadership experience preferred.
- Strong technology background and aptitude required to sell and support a major growth area of the company which includes digital stand alone as well as blended print and digital products.
- Must be result-oriented and able to work independently.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and customer relationship management software.

- Travels by Company-provided vehicle through assigned territory which may require overnight stays as appropriate.

Compensation:
This position is slated in the base range of $75,000 – $90,000. Flexibility based on experience. Company car, gas card and corporate Amex also provided.
