NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a rapidly growing organization in the industrial and distribution sector to identify an experienced Payroll Specialist. This opportunity offers $70K–$90K, depending on experience, and is open to direct hire or contract-to-hire. This individual will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 200 employees across four business entities, including warehouse and operational employees, while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple pay schedules.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on payroll processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of payroll operations, resolve discrepancies, and adapt to changing systems and processes. Experience supporting employee benefits administration would be a significant advantage.

Required:

• Strong hands-on payroll processing experience, including payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Experience managing multiple payroll schedules, including weekly, biweekly, and semimonthly payroll
• Working knowledge of wage calculations, payroll deductions, garnishments, and payroll reconciliations
• Familiarity with payroll taxes and compliance, including the ability to assist with payroll tax-related matters
• Experience with Paycor or a comparable payroll system, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

• Experience with Paycor, Paylocity, or Rippling
• Experience processing payroll for 200+ employees across multiple business entities
• Hands-on experience supporting benefits administration in addition to payroll processing
• Background in industrial distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, or related industries
• Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
