NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing financial services organization to identify a Director of IT in Richardson, TX. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a 100% onsite schedule, responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, cloud systems, network operations, and day-to-day technology support.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys solving technical problems as much as managing a team. The right candidate will have strong networking expertise, deep Microsoft 365 administration experience, and hands-on Azure cloud management capabilities. This individual will lead a small IT support team while remaining directly involved in troubleshooting, infrastructure administration, system reliability, and security.

Required:

• 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience leading or managing technical support and infrastructure operations
• Strong hands-on networking experience, including routers, switches, firewalls, network topology, LAN/WAN, VPNs, and network troubleshooting
• Advanced Microsoft 365 administration experience, including user management, security, licensing, and related Microsoft technologies
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure cloud administration experience, including cloud infrastructure, identity management, and ongoing environment support
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues while managing a small team and supporting daily business operations

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, endpoint management, and PowerShell scripting
• Experience supporting small to midsize organizations with approximately 100–300 employees and lean internal IT teams
• Familiarity with VoIP, call center telephony, dialers, or cloud contact center platforms
• Experience managing IT security, endpoint protection, backup and disaster recovery, vendors, and technology budgets
• Microsoft Azure, Cisco, CompTIA, or similar technical certifications; financial services experience is a plus
