NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a financial services organization in the insurance sector to identify a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting to support corporate finance reporting and analysis activities. This role will play a key part in preparing financial statements, supporting regulatory filings, and driving process improvements within a fast-paced accounting environment. This opportunity is well-suited for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys owning complex reporting responsibilities, working independently, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or audit
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience supporting financial close processes
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and large data set analysis
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and reporting responsibilities independently
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Preferred:

• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA
• Experience with statutory reporting or insurance regulatory filings
• Background: collaborating with external auditors and supporting audit deliverables
• Experience driving process improvements or automation initiatives
• Strong technical accounting research and documentation skills
