Tax Manager

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager who is eager to take on a leadership role within a firm that prioritizes both personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate is committed to excellence, delivering top-tier service to clients while building strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike. Hiring for Tampa, Winter Park, and Pensacola offices.

As a Tax Manager, you will be the primary advisor for clients on the tax implications of their business strategies. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and selecting alternative actions to minimize tax burdens, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and addressing complex tax issues. Additionally, you will engage in marketing, networking, and business development activities within your area of expertise. Providing written tax advice to clients may also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations across various industries.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of technical and practical issues in one or more areas of taxation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, offering exceptional planning, consulting, and industry-specific expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, supporting colleagues and ensuring commitments to clients are met.
  • Supervise managers and staff, including reviewing their work, providing feedback, and managing workload.
  • Serve as a Career Coach to staff, providing performance feedback and assisting with goal setting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent (required)
  • Master’s degree in accountancy (preferred)
  • CPA license (required)
  • 5+ years of hands-on tax experience with a large local, regional, or national public accounting firm (preferred)
  • Prior supervisory experience (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to identify complex client issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional service, making each client interaction memorable.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources through active participation in industry, civic, and social organizations.
  • Share knowledge to support the development and career advancement of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team, fostering an environment of trust, respect, and fairness.
  • Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with CCH Engagement, CCH Axcess, QuickBooks, or equivalent (required).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
