Trueline's client, a well-established law firm in Houston, is seeking a Municipal and Land Use Attorney to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse municipalities and make a meaningful impact in public service.


What You'll Do as the Municipal & Land Use Attorney:

  • Serve as principal general counsel for multiple municipalities
  • Provide comprehensive legal services related to local government operations
  • Conduct legal research and prepare various legal documents
  • Attend city council and other governing body meetings
  • Review laws, contracts, and administrative processes to develop legal strategies
  • Offer legal advice to client staff, elected officials, and appointed officials
  • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities


You'll Succeed as the Municipal & Land Use Attorney if you Have:

  • 3-10 years of experience in municipal or local government law
  • A passion for public service and community impact
  • Strong legal research and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of local government legal principles, state and federal laws, and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, courts, and the public
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with legal case management software
  • Expertise in Texas Open Meetings Act, land use regulations, and other areas of municipal law
  • Flexibility to accommodate evening meetings and a varied schedule
