Trueline’s client, a culture-focused independent law firm, is seeking an experienced Corporate & Estate Planning Legal Assistant/Secretary to join their team in downtown Chicago. This is an opportunity to join a forward-looking, energetic, and vibrant group of individuals supporting a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses in the Chicagoland area.

 

As the Legal Assistant, You Will:

  • Provide administrative and executive support for corporate and/or estate planning attorneys
  • Accurately edit and format legal documents such as agreements, contracts, affidavits, and more
  • Assist attorneys with tasks and procedures associated with corporate closings
  • Prepare estate planning documents like wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Attend estate plan signings and assist with trust administration
  • Create closing binders and interface with clients on administrative matters
  • Maintain physical and electronic files, prepare correspondence, and assist with new matters
  • Schedule meetings/appointments and maintain attorneys' calendars
  • Assist with expense reports and tracking CLE credits


You'll Succeed as the Legal Assistant if you Have:

  • 3-5 years of legal secretarial/assistant experience, preferably in corporate and estate planning
  • Exceptional English skills, attention to detail, proofreading, and organizational abilities
  • Professionalism and ability to connect with clients and provide responsive service
  • Knowledge of estate planning documents and ability to prepare/edit them
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, PDF programs, transcription, document comparison
  • Typing speed of 70-80 wpm
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, time entry, videoconferencing, office equipment
  • Strong communication, time management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Positive, flexible approach and commitment to inclusivity
