Trueline's client, a well-established accounting firm with over 40 years of experience serving small and mid-sized businesses in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Tax Senior to join their team. What You'll Do as the Tax Senior:
• Oversee and perform tax compliance activities for individuals and businesses
• Prepare and review Federal and State income tax returns
• Conduct tax planning and projections
• Perform tax research, resolution, and correspondence
• Manage client information requests and deliverables
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
• Maintain quality standards across all tax projects
• Provide support on special tax projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with staff, clients, and management
You'll Succeed as the Tax Senior if you Have:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of experience at a public accounting firm
• CPA, MsT or EA certification (preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
• Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations
• Proficiency in tax software (UltraTax or similar) and QuickBooks a plus
• Excellent research and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team members at various levels
• Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
