About the Role 

Our client is seeking an experienced Web Developer to take ownership of their eCommerce site 

built on Shopify Plus. The IT team recently assumed responsibility for the site from the 

marketing organization and has identified a roadmap of fixes and enhancements aimed at 

improving site performance and elevating the overall customer experience. This is a hands-on 

development role where you will have direct, visible impact on a revenue-generating platform. 

This is a long-term contract role, onsite position located in downtown Cincinnati, OH.

This role will have a 5 day a week onsite requirement and an option for 1 day remote after 60-90 days.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and existing application 

functionality to design, develop, and implement effective software solutions. 

• Develop, enhance, and support web-based applications, website functionality, and internal 

business systems utilizing appropriate front-end and back-end technologies. 

• Build and maintain Shopify Plus page templates, content modules, reusable sections, and 

theme components using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. 

• Identify and implement performance optimizations and customer experience 

improvements across the eCommerce platform. 

• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize fixes, enhancements, and platform 

configuration changes. 

Required Qualifications 

• Minimum 3 years of professional web development, software development, or related 

technical experience. 

• Experience developing front-end applications utilizing JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and 

modern web development frameworks and practices. 

• Familiarity with developing and maintaining websites utilizing Shopify or Shopify Plus, 

including Liquid templating, theme customization, and platform configuration. Shopify Plus 

experience strongly preferred. 

• Knowledge of modern web development principles, responsive design concepts, web 

standards, and software development best practices. 

• Knowledge of API architecture, systems integration concepts, relational databases, cloud 

computing technologies, and application development methodologies. 

• Understanding of modern web practices, including Mobile First design. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with API integrations and structured data. 
• Experience with technical SEO and web performance optimization. 
• Prior experience supporting an eCommerce platform in a retail or direct-to-consumer 

environment.
