Desktop Support Contractor

Associates who serve independent agents and protect families and businesses cannot do that work if their computers fail. This contract role keeps desktops, laptops, and everyday tools reliable so claims, underwriting, billing, and agency partners stay in motion. You will be the person in the room who restores productivity with patience, clear explanations, and fixes that last. Actions here are measured by how quickly people get back to serving others.

Performance Objectives

  • Restore associate productivity by diagnosing and resolving desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues on first contact or within agreed service targets.
  • Prepare and hand off standard workstations so new and transferring associates are signed in, connected, and working on day one.
  • Cut repeat tickets by documenting root causes, known fixes, and patterns the team can act on.
  • Protect company and customer information by applying approved security, patch, and access standards and escalating exceptions immediately.
  • Coach associates through simple issues so they leave confident, not dependent on another ticket.
  • Coordinate cleanly with identity, network, and application partners when a problem sits beyond the desktop.
  • Keep assigned hardware records accurate so inventory, replacements, and audits reflect what is actually in use.

Environment & Resources

You will work on-site with the end-user computing team, reporting to the desktop support lead for daily priorities and service standards. You will use the team’s ticketing system, standard images, Microsoft endpoint and productivity tools, and an approved hardware catalog. Spare parts, loaner devices, and escalation paths are in place; you will not invent unsupported workarounds. The engagement is a defined contract with a clear scope, not an open-ended staff role.

Essential Qualifications

  • Two or more years resolving Windows desktop and laptop issues for non-technical users in a ticketed environment.
  • Hands-on skill with hardware, peripherals, imaging or provisioning, and Microsoft 365 sign-in and application problems.
  • A record of meeting response and resolution targets while explaining fixes in plain language.
  • Sound judgment on when to fix, when to escalate, and how to protect sensitive insurance and customer data.
  • Ability to move, set up, and cable equipment safely and to work the on-site schedule this contract requires.

Why This Work

  • Your fixes directly support people who help families and businesses prevent or recover from loss.
  • The team practices the Golden Rule: courteous service, straight answers, and respect for every associate.
  • You will see how a relationship-based insurer runs technology, with room to learn beyond break-fix.
  • Expectations, tools, and escalation paths are defined so you can succeed without guessing the culture.
  • We welcome qualified contractors without regard to any basis prohibited by law.

Apply

If you restore calm and productivity when a workstation fails, apply with a short note on a desktop problem you solved and how you proved it stayed fixed.
