Field Service & Site Execution Manager
60–70% Travel | Industrial Automation & Material Handling
Our client, a leading industrial automation company, is seeking a hands-on Field Service & Site Execution Manager to lead electrical and controls installation activities at customer sites across the U.S. This is a player-coach role responsible for managing field execution, coordinating subcontractors and technicians, supporting startup and troubleshooting efforts, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site electrical and controls installation activities for automation projects
- Manage field technicians and third-party electrical contractors during installation and startup
- Coordinate daily site execution, schedules, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Support commissioning, I/O checkout, power-up, startup, and turnover activities
- Perform field quality inspections, installation verification, and punch list management
- Serve as the primary site contact for customers, contractors, and project teams
- Maintain field documentation including redlines, as-builts, and issue tracking
- Enforce site safety standards including LOTO, PPE, and NFPA 70E practices
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, electrical installation, commissioning, or field service
- 3+ years leading field teams, subcontractors, or site execution activities
- Strong knowledge of industrial controls, PLC-based automation, and electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics, panel drawings, and installation packages
- Experience in material handling, warehouse, parcel, or distribution automation environments preferred
- Rockwell and/or Siemens platform experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability and willingness to travel 60–70%
Base Compensation is $100k-$130k DOE
