JOB SUMMARY

The Java Developer works as part of a development team to build, maintain, and support applications that serve the IT and business partners of The Cincinnati Insurance Company.

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 month contract to hire

Salary: 100-120k

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with a team of developers to build, maintain, and enhance web services and applications using Java on the Linux platform, working with SQL Server and XML data. Partner closely with subject matter experts and business analysts to translate business needs into technical requirements. Support the setup and execution of test cases.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 5+ years of overall software development experience in Java.
• Hands-on experience with IntelliJ, Eclipse, or VS Code, using GitHub for version control.
• Solid experience with Maven and the Spring Framework.
• Experience working with SQL Server, Linux DB2, and Hibernate for data access.
• Experience with JAXB (Java Architecture for XML Binding) and XSLT.
• Proficient in web service development and testing using Postman, SoapUI, and Swagger.
• Self-motivated professional who is resourceful, innovative, and comfortable working independently. Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
