ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Permit Project Manager to lead the delivery of permitting documentation supporting our platform projects. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Director of Commercial Projects Execution and owns the coordination of purchase orders, stamped drawings and calculations, and other supporting documentation required to move projects through the permitting process. The Permit Project Manager also supports the Slab Analysis process and other auxiliary services as assigned, driving each submission through meticulous planning, coordination, and communication with internal teams, consulting engineers, and city officials.


Location: Milwaukee, WI

Salary: 60-80k


WHAT YOU'LL DO

•     Track the schedule and completion of slab analysis, permit drawing, and calculation submissions to the customer.

•     Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Drafters, Clerks, and Inventory Control on the Calc Request and Slab Analysis process.

•     Request quotes from, submit purchase orders to, and approve invoices from consulting engineers for engineering services, drawing/calculation review and stamping, and miscellaneous letters.

•     Compile and organize digital and physical documents to prepare submittal packages for customers and consulting engineers.

•     Assist Project Engineers in preparing responses to City Plan Reviewer feedback on submittal packages.

•     Support Project Engineers and Estimators in researching local codes and ordinances for initial design documents, and maintain a database of deviations from national standards, codes, or specifications.

•     Complete and prepare forms and letters for permit applications, inspections, and occupancy sign-off.

•     Communicate with customers and city building officials via meetings, virtual calls, and email.


WHO SHOULD APPLY

Candidates with a background in construction or manufacturing are encouraged to apply. Experience in both is ideal, as it provides a stronger foundation for understanding required permits and navigating city ordinances. Material handling industry experience is a plus but not required.


Education & Experience

•     Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, Industrial Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

•     1-2 years of previous project management experience preferred.

•     Construction and/or manufacturing background required; candidates with experience in both are strongly preferred.

•     Knowledge of building codes and permitting processes preferred.

•     Knowledge of the material handling industry is a plus.

•     Familiarity with project management and collaboration software such as Microsoft Project.

•     Proven results within a high-competency, high-assertive, sales-driven environment.


Skills

•     Proficient in Microsoft Office required; excellent Excel skills a plus.

•     Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

•     Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, maintain accuracy, and stay detail-oriented in a deadline-driven environment.

•     Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

•     Solid collaboration and relationship-building skills.

•     Decisive and self-driven, with the ability to establish credibility while supporting company priorities.

•     Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; ability to write reports and business correspondence.

•     Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume, and apply basic algebra concepts.


WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

Combined construction and manufacturing experience, hands-on familiarity with permitting/AHJ processes, and comfort managing multiple consulting-engineer relationships simultaneously will make a candidate stand out for this role.
