Senior Electrical Test Engineer – Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Location: Santa Clarita (Valencia), CA
Travel: Approximately 10% domestic and international
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to design, develop, and support automated test equipment (ATE) used to verify complex medical devices and manufacturing processes.
This position will be heavily involved in the development of both ATE hardware and software, including electrical test systems, LabVIEW-based automation, analog/digital electronics, and production test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, and implement automated test equipment (ATE) hardware and software.
- Develop test systems for next-generation medical devices and manufacturing processes.
- Create ATE requirements, design documentation, test plans, and test procedures.
- Troubleshoot and support existing test systems used in production.
- Improve existing ATE systems and processes to increase reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
- Identify and implement new test equipment, technologies, and automation solutions.
- Support ATE throughout the product lifecycle, including development, production, change management, and obsolescence.
- Work directly with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve test system issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience with electrical test systems, automated test equipment, embedded hardware, or related test engineering.
- Strong experience with LabVIEW and automated test system development.
- Experience with analog and digital electronics, RF, DSP, PCB design/layout, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience developing software using .NET/C#; Python experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis and tools such as Minitab.
- Ability to manage multiple technical priorities and work effectively across engineering teams.
Preferred Experience
- Medical device or other highly regulated product development experience.
- Class III medical device experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
- Process validation experience including IQ/OQ/PQ.
- Experience with GR&R and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
- Audio or digital signal processing experience.
- Certified LabVIEW Developer or Associate Developer (CLD/CLAD).
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
