Vice President of Engineering - Material Handling
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Engineering. The successful candidate will oversee the engineering department, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality material handling systems that meet customer needs. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Leadership:
- Lead and manage the engineering department, including electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering teams.
- Drive strong performance in pre-sales and project execution engineering.
- Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Partner cross functionally with Sales, Project Management and other internal groups to ensure successful project delivery with the highest standards
- Technical Vision:
- Develop and execute a technical vision that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Project Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality material handling systems that meet customer requirements.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal risk.
- Talent Development:
- Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
- Mentor and coach engineers to enhance their skills and expertise.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Develop and implement plans to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in material handling systems engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Advanced understanding of distribution center operations and automation
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proven track record of delivering highly integrated systems
- Strong technical expertise in material handling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
- Experience with project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ability to travel 30%

Base Salary Range: 150k-200K
