Vice President of Engineering - Material Handling

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Engineering. The successful candidate will oversee the engineering department, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality material handling systems that meet customer needs. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the engineering department, including electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering teams.
  • Drive strong performance in pre-sales and project execution engineering.
  • Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Partner cross functionally with Sales, Project Management and other internal groups to ensure successful project delivery with the highest standards
  1. Technical Vision:
  • Develop and execute a technical vision that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  1. Project Delivery:
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality material handling systems that meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal risk.
  1. Talent Development:
  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in material handling systems engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced understanding of distribution center operations and automation
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Proven track record of delivering highly integrated systems
  • Strong technical expertise in material handling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to travel 30%

Base Salary Range: 150k-200K
