Plant Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead their plant in northern Cincinnati, overseeing a production team of 100 individuals with additional dotted line responsibilities for support functions. This critical role reports to the VP of Manufacturing and is responsible for driving excellence in safety, quality, culture, delivery, productivity, cost, customer service, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a culture of environmental, health, and safety excellence, leveraging the safety scorecard process and collaborating with the onsite EHS manager.
  2. Enhance production quality through effective partnerships with the quality manager and utilization of the quality scorecard.
  3. Meet day-to-day batch production goals, reducing SKU backlog.
  4. Collaborate with the continuous improvement leader to implement process changes, boosting throughput and productivity.
  5. Develop and implement effective recruitment, training, and onboarding processes, working closely with the training manager and HR.
  6. Coach and mentor supervisors and leads to enhance culture and drive key performance indicators (KPIs).
  7. Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements.
  8. Develop and execute capital plans, maintaining the PM program and establishing OEE calculations.
  9. Communicate business goals and objectives to plant employees, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and inventory targets.
  10. Foster positive relationships with union stewards, addressing employee concerns and grievances.
  11. Drive capacity growth to meet changing business demands and improve cost/productivity.
  12. Deliver budgetary goals, presenting action plans to senior leadership.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in batch chemical processing and EHS culture improvement.
  2. Chemical engineering degree or chemical manufacturing background required.
  3. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in change management.
  5. Hands-on, results-driven approach, thriving in fast-paced environments.
  6. Strong leadership skills, with ability to drive accountability through disciplinary and incentive-based action plans.


This is a fully onsite position in northern Cincinnati. Compensation is DOE $140k-180k annually
