Principal Technical Product Manager – General Conveyance

As the Principal Technical Product Manager – General Conveyance, you will operate as the functional CEO of Our Client’s conveyor product portfolio. This role requires balancing business strategy with deep technical expertise to define and standardize the next generation of conveyance solutions — beginning with traditional belt and motor-driven roller (MDR) systems and evolving into innovative, proprietary platforms.
Your work will involve strategic problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and end-to-end product leadership that advances the boundaries of robotics, automation, and material handling technology.
You will partner with a team of engineers, innovators, and business leaders focused on reducing variability, improving system performance, and driving scalable automation solutions across a highly complex operational environment. Key Responsibilities
Drive Technological Innovation
Serve as the subject matter expert for conveyance systems, maintaining deep technical knowledge and providing forward-looking product vision and guidance.
Product Design & Development
Develop comprehensive product requirements and technical documentation. Lead research initiatives and collaborate with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
Strategic Communication & Influence
Build alignment across stakeholders, translate complex technical concepts into clear business narratives, and influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations.
Technical Problem-Solving
Evaluate complex system architectures, develop innovative design solutions, and make high-impact decisions affecting global operations.
End-to-End Product Leadership
Own the product lifecycle from concept through deployment. Define success metrics, establish product standards, and champion best practices in technical product management.
Basic Qualifications
- Deep subject matter expertise in parcel and warehouse (distribution & fulfillment) conveyor systems, particularly belt conveyance and motor-driven roller (MDR)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- MBA or equivalent business leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in product management frameworks and methodologies
- Strong technical documentation and executive communication skills
- Experience with complex system architecture and strategic product planning
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Background in robotics, automation, or advanced hardware-based systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of multiple sortation technologies, including capabilities and limitations
- 7+ years of experience in technical product management
- Proven success leading cross-functional product development initiatives
- Experience with distributed system architectures
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications
- Understanding of supply chain optimization and manufacturing strategy
