Our client is searching for an experienced Supervisor looking to take their next step into Management as an Operations Manager!
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, meeting the company's quality standards and production goals. The Operations Manager will lead a team of supervisors and production staff, driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee the manufacturing processes to ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials.
2. Quality Control
- Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality issues and implement preventive measures.
3. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and production staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the facility remains competitive.
5. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Address any safety concerns promptly and effectively.
6. Budget Management
- Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
7. Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on production status and any issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or related Engineering is a plus but not a must.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles, knowledge of automotive or radiator manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
- This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- The role may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
This is a direct hire opportunity based in Fairfield Ohio
Compensation is DOE 90-110k base salary
