Company Overview:

Our client is a family owned general contractor that's looking for an estimator to help on commercial projects.

Job Summary: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and related documents, and determining the scope of work required. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and Analyze Project Documents: Examine blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and itemized cost estimates for commerical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Bid Preparation: Compile and submit competitive bids, proposals, and cost breakdowns for projects.
  • Project Coordination: Work with project managers and engineers to develop accurate project timelines and budgets.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns or questions related to estimates.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, proposals, and correspondence related to bids.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs to ensure estimates are accurate and within budget, providing updates and revisions as necessary.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to ensure estimates are current and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial estimating for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. K
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
