Description:


A leading accounting and financial services firm serving the restaurant and hospitality industry is seeking a GL Accountant to join their team.

This is a remote, full-time position ideal for an accounting professional with a passion for accuracy, collaboration, and delivering high-quality financial reporting for restaurant clients nationwide. You will oversee full-function accounting work, including general ledger management, banking and treasury functions, revenue recording, month-end close processes, and client reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while delivering exceptional results.


Must be authorized to work in the United States. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: PA, MD, FL, WA, OR, TN, TX, AZ, MT, NY, NJ, VA, GA, OK, MN, NE, IL, KS, MO, AL, or MI.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage cash/credit card transactions, perform bank reconciliations, and ensure fee accounts are accurately reconciled
  • Oversee the weekly recording of revenues and ensure proper data integration
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial data
  • Lead month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee full reconciliation of prepaid/accrued expenses, payables, deposits, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Partner with internal teams and clients to gather information for month-end close and reporting
  • Prepare cash management reports for clients and resolve account discrepancies
  • Serve as a go-to resource for accounting team members, helping solve problems and guide high-quality work
  • Oversee and support the AP team as needed
  • Assist in training staff and facilitating discussions between team members and management


Requirements:


  • 4-year degree in Accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Restaurant industry experience preferred but not required
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applicable laws/regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and research abilities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks while collaborating effectively with others
