What You’ll Do

Architect, own, and ship the first real version of Junto, from greenfield to production (no legacy, all modern)

Design and implement secure, scalable APIs, data models, and cloud infrastructure from scratch

Lay the technical foundation: make early stack decisions, patterns, and workflows that future teammates will build on

Work across the stack: focus on backend, but also spin up frontends (React), dashboards, and help with our first browser extension

Ship fast, but with care: from ATS and CRM flows to live fraud detection and compliance automation

Set the bar for code quality, docs, and CI/CD so onboarding the next wave of engineers is seamless

Collaborate closely with the founders: your opinion matters on product, architecture, and team culture

Lead by example: mentor new hires, run code reviews, and shape our engineering culture as we grow
What We’re Looking For

3+ years building SaaS or data-driven platforms from scratch (true 0-to-1, not just scaling)
- Strong experience architecting and building with Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS (or similar cloud)
- (Our default is modern JavaScript/TypeScript end-to-end for velocity and shared models, but if you bring a compelling technical vision and can deliver, you’ll have real influence.)

Comfort with frontend (React): You can build, test, and ship UI, even if it’s not pixel-perfect. Front-end won't be your primary responsability as the team scales, but it may be required to handle some early frontend shipping.

Security-first and privacy-by-design: Auth, RBAC, GDPR, and API security are familiar territory

Startup mentality: You thrive on ambiguity, solve real problems, and do what needs to be done (not just what’s assigned)

You care about what you build: You think about risk, performance, tradeoffs, and user impact, not just ticking off tickets

Strong communication: Remote-first, async, clear writing and feedback are second nature
Bonus Points
- Experience leading or mentoring small teams (even informally)
- Built SaaS in regulated, security-heavy, or HRTech/FinTech domains
- Set up infra-as-code (Terraform/CDK), browser extensions, or integrated ML/AI APIs
- Interested in building out robust, human-in-the-loop AI features
