About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to focus on early-stage product and technology development.

This role sits upstream of traditional product development, working on concept generation, feasibility, and prototyping to enable future product platforms.

You will translate high-level ideas into functional mechanical systems, validate concepts through experimentation, and reduce technical risk before full-scale development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of early-stage mechanical concepts and prototypes

• Translate product ideas into mechanical architectures and proof-of-concept systems

• Design, build, and test prototype components and assemblies

• Conduct feasibility studies across:

  • Thermal performance
  • Structural integrity
  • Materials and tolerances
  • • Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and documentation
  • • Execute rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing, machining, soft tooling)
  • • Plan and run engineering experiments to validate assumptions
  • • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in development
  • • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, product, and industrial design teams
  • • Evaluate new materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing methods
  • • Document findings to support future product development
  • • Support transition of validated concepts into production programs

Required Experience

• 6–10 years experience in mechanical engineering (R&D / product development)

• Strong experience designing:

  • Injection-moulded components
  • Machined parts
  • Sheet metal assemblies
  • • Proven experience in rapid prototyping and iterative development
  • • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
  • • Solid understanding of:
  • Materials
  • Mechanisms
  • Thermal management
