Job Description: Chef de Cuisine

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen of a modern, ingredient-driven French restaurant in San Francisco. This individual will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and ownership team to execute exceptional cuisine, maintain elevated operational standards, and cultivate a professional, inspired kitchen culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership of all kitchen operations and service execution
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all menu offerings
  • Oversee ordering, inventory management, prep systems, and recipe standardization
  • Train, mentor, and develop the culinary team to uphold high performance expectations
  • Manage labor control, food cost, waste reduction, and overall kitchen efficiency
  • Partner with leadership on menu development, seasonal updates, and creative direction
  • Uphold health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance at all times
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, respectful, and growth-oriented kitchen environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Senior Sous Chef, or comparable leadership role
  • Strong foundation in French, Californian, or contemporary cuisine styles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with clear communication, organization, and accountability
  • Proven success working under pressure and maintaining composure during high-volume service
  • Strong work ethic, professional maturity, and commitment to excellence

Compensation & Benefits
