Job Description: Chef de Cuisine
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen of a modern, ingredient-driven French restaurant in San Francisco. This individual will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and ownership team to execute exceptional cuisine, maintain elevated operational standards, and cultivate a professional, inspired kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership of all kitchen operations and service execution
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all menu offerings
- Oversee ordering, inventory management, prep systems, and recipe standardization
- Train, mentor, and develop the culinary team to uphold high performance expectations
- Manage labor control, food cost, waste reduction, and overall kitchen efficiency
- Partner with leadership on menu development, seasonal updates, and creative direction
- Uphold health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance at all times
- Foster a positive, disciplined, respectful, and growth-oriented kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Senior Sous Chef, or comparable leadership role
- Strong foundation in French, Californian, or contemporary cuisine styles
- Demonstrated ability to lead with clear communication, organization, and accountability
- Proven success working under pressure and maintaining composure during high-volume service
- Strong work ethic, professional maturity, and commitment to excellence
