An acclaimed hospitality brand is seeking a General Manager to lead a high-profile new restaurant opening in the West Village. This is a "World's Best Top 50" brand expanding into the US market. This role is ideal for a calm, respected operator with a strong book of talent, a shared moral compass, and the ability to lead an elevated yet approachable dining room. The GM must be composed under pressure and experienced in navigating high-visibility openings. Ideal candidate has experience with South American cuisine.
Requirements
- 2–3 years as a General Manager, or a senior AGM from a serious concept ready to step into a GM role
- Strong working knowledge of a P&L, including the ability to adjust operations accordingly
- Hands-on with invoicing, reporting, and administrative systems
- Background in South American concepts strongly preferred
- Spanish speaking not required or but strongly preferred
- Experience in upscale, refined dining that is elevated but approachable
- Well versed in the NYC market, including prior experience navigating a review.
Responsibilities
- Lead hiring, interviews, and training; build a cohesive FOH team aligned with the brand
- Serve as the visible floor leader—able to control the room with ease
- Maintain service excellence with calm, high-touch leadership
- Oversee daily operations, labor, and cost controls informed by P&L insights
- Ensure readiness for opening review process and post-opening evaluation
- Maintain compliance with NYC DOH and labor standards
