QA Manager / Test Engineering Manager
Location: Fully remote – EST / CST highly preferred
Duration: 14-month contract
Our client is seeking a QA Manager / Test Engineering Manager to lead quality efforts for a large, highly visible software platform. This role is focused on people leadership, process, and strategy, with ownership of a large distributed team and continued expansion of test automation across the organization.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead a distributed QA team of 30+ engineers, including internal staff and an offshore vendor team
- Manage third-party relationships and ensure consistent delivery and accountability
- Advance and scale test automation initiatives across multiple teams
- Partner with engineering and release stakeholders to align on quality strategy and risk
- Define success through metrics, reporting, and clear quality standards
- Mentor and develop QA leaders and engineers
Ideal background
- Solid QA or test engineering experience with strong people management responsibility
- Experience leading large, globally distributed or vendor-based teams
- Proven success driving test automation strategy and process improvement
- Comfortable in a management-first role with minimal hands-on work
- Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Python preferred) and CI/CD practices
- Strong communication skills; EST/CST availability strongly preferred
