Position Overview
Lamplighter anticipates hiring one or more elementary educators to support its Lower School program (Grades 1–4). Depending on final internal staffing decisions, this role may involve homeroom teaching or subject-focused instruction in areas such as literacy, social studies, science, or mathematics.
Lamplighter’s elementary program emphasizes inquiry, strong relationships, and integrated learning experiences that help students develop curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
Teachers collaborate closely with colleagues across grade levels and subject areas to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students.
Key Responsibilities
The Elementary Teacher will:
• Design and deliver engaging lessons that support student curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking
• Create a classroom environment that promotes belonging, respect, and intellectual risk-taking
• Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners
• Collaborate closely with grade-level colleagues and instructional teams

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree
• Elementary teaching experience
• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills

• Comfort using technology tools such as Google Workspace in the classroom
