Salary: $85k-$110k base plus bonus


Overview  

Retained search in Woodcliff Lake for a newly created Family Office Senior Accountant. Rare opportunity to develop into a senior leadership role for an expanding Family Office. 2+ years of public accounting in the family office, hedge fund or management company space a plus. A public accountant with other industry experience will be considered if there is a strong interest in entering the Family Office space. Responsibilities 

  • Manage finances for high-net-worth family members 
  • Perform daily accounting, reconciliations and record keeping which includes creating and maintaining the general ledger, prepare accurate financial statements, and provide insightful analysis of overall financial status of the Family Office 
  • Review and process family office bills and vendor invoices, including initiating and monitoring electronic payments through banking portals, ensuring timely release of payments. 
  • Manage vendor relationships 
  • Track and maintain credit/debit card transactions and prepare wire transfer letters and various correspondence 
  • Assist with payroll entries as the Family Office continues to expand 
  • Assist with managing and reporting on trusts, including intergenerational wealth transfer and coordinating with external advisors on estate planning and expenditures, as the Family Office expands 
  • Special projects as needed, including scanning, uploading and filing historical documents and maintain going forward 
  • Provide general office administration assistance (office supplies, manage overnight packages) 
  • Prepare travel and entertainment expense reporting for senior team members 
  • Assist with calendar management of senior team members 

  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • 2+ years of accounting experience 
  • Public accounting professional with clients in Family Office, Management company or direct Family Office experience a plus 
  • Experience with LLCs and trusts a plus 
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables) 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • Oracle NetSuite, Quicken and / or QuickBooks a plus 
  • Willingness to take initiative 
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
